Our Source Story

In 2014, our LEAP co-founder had a lofty goal to raise $100k in order for LEAP to become a self-sufficient non-profit organization. If we did this, we could continue empowering people who are facing adversity and trauma by providing them therapeutic wilderness programs on rivers for years to come. He knew we needed to do something big, and we did. 22 people spent 11 days paddling the entire length of the Salmon River in Idaho, kayaking over 425 miles in just 11 days.

While our entire Source-to-Snake journey was momentous, there was something that stood out above all; the cohesiveness and supportiveness of those on the trip, despite being so disparate. Variance in age and skill level did not matter, everyone was supportive and engaged with each other the entire trip. Like we instill on LEAP programs, we did whatever it took to make sure that each and every one of us had it within ourselves to succeed—and we did.

The challenge of this trip is nothing compared to the adversity our program partners encounter on a daily basis. We are forever thankful and honored by their strength and courage.

Upon registration you will receive marketing materials and instructions on how to maximize your fundraising networks as well as a site to manage all incoming donations and sponsorships.
