Our Mission In Action.

LEAP & FriendsPDX

Over six days, five nights on the Lower Salmon River in Idaho, youth and their long-term mentors step away from daily distractions and into an experience rooted in what matters most: connection, confidence, and community.

From whitewater rapids to quiet stretches of canyon, from riverside camps to stories shared under the stars, participants deepen their relationships, discover inner strength, and experience the healing power of wild places.

What we do.

We harness the power of rivers, community, and mentorship to help youth heal and thrive.

  • LEAP River Program

Guided multi-day programs on the Lower Salmon and Lower Deschutes Rivers where youth and others build confidence, connection, and resilience through nature, challenge, and community.

  • LEAP Guide Mentorship Program

A structured growth path where young people move from participants to Guides-in-Training, to Interns, and ultimately professional river guides, opening doors to careers in outdoor recreation.

  • LEAP Adaptive Program

Inclusive river experiences for individuals with spinal cord injuries, lower-body paralysis, or other physical disabilities, creating access to wild spaces and the healing power of nature.
