Our Leadership Team
Amy Wickstrom
Executive Director
At LEAP, Amy brings a deep commitment to social impact and a genuine curiosity about each person’s unique life experience. Guided by a strong belief in nature’s healing power, she champions innovative programs that integrate adventure with therapeutic practices, offering not just escape, but meaningful opportunities for transformation.
Throughout her nonprofit career, Amy has contributed to nearly every facet of organizational work, with a particular focus on development, fundraising, administration, program design, and evaluation. Her efforts have consistently supported missions centered on individuals navigating trauma, grief, and life challenges that hinder their ability to thrive.
Program Director
Jasper Vanspoore
At LEAP, Jasper brings a grounded, heart-centered approach rooted in years of guiding, teaching, and deep relationship with wild rivers. Raised in the mountains and river canyons of Idaho and Montana, her connection to place began early and continues to shape how she shows up as a leader—steady, attentive, and deeply committed to creating environments where people feel safe, capable, and supported.
Jasper’s background spans multi-day whitewater expeditions, youth education, and work in rural and remote communities, including time teaching high school in Idaho and Alaska. Across these settings, she has built a reputation for strong risk management, thoughtful facilitation, and an ability to meet people where they are. Guided by a belief in the transformational power of rivers, Jasper strengthens LEAP’s programs through trauma-informed leadership that elevates quality, fosters trust, and ensures every participant feels seen, connected, and empowered.
