On the river, challenge builds courage, and connection creates a path forward.

What We Do.

Founded in 2010 by the team behind Orange Torpedo Trips, LEAP grew from decades of professional river-guiding experience and a belief in the power of shared wilderness experiences.

Today, LEAP partners with nonprofit organizations to provide multi-day, no-fee whitewater kayaking programs on the Deschutes and Salmon Rivers for youth and adults who have experienced adversity.

Immersed in nature and supported by community, participants move through challenge, reflection, and success.

At LEAP, participants do real, hard things.

They navigate whitewater in individual kayaks. They live outdoors together. They move through uncertainty. They rely on themselves and one another. Within a supportive community, these challenges build confidence, strengthen self-efficacy and belonging, and reconnect participants with themselves, others, and the natural world.
